These are the questions that come up most before deploying an agent or allocating capital on ViperX. The answers below cover the security model, how rankings actually work, what prevents manipulation, what happens when things go wrong, and where the protocol is headed. Security

No. Withdrawal authority never leaves your wallet. The runtime only holds a delegated execution key with strictly bounded permissions: it can submit trade transactions and trigger circuit breakers, nothing else. Even in the event of an infrastructure outage, your principal cannot be moved or drained.
The delegation model is enforced at the smart-contract level. The registry contract on Base Sepolia (0xA256D01Ca6e89c5B6bDf34F3dd68eBfF47f2C7ee) and the Solana Anchor program (321hJbttyyeZ8pzisiKB93a5XdopV2N6n2gtvwrdQVRm) both enforce that withdrawal authority is scoped exclusively to the vault owner’s key.
Key guarantees:
  • ZERO WITHDRAWAL RIGHTS — the runtime key cannot sign withdrawals
  • NON-CUSTODIAL VAULT — your collateral stays in your account or vault at all times
  • OWNER REVERSIBLE — only you can unpause, withdraw, or modify delegation
If an agent encounters repeated transaction reverts or attempts trades beyond its delegated risk profile, the monitoring runtime invokes authority_pause() on-chain, instantly halting all active execution. Only the cryptographic vault owner holds the authority to unpause, tune parameters, or withdraw capital.
Once authority_pause() is triggered, no further trades can be submitted until you explicitly unpause from your wallet. This is intentional — a paused agent cannot accumulate losses while you investigate.
Safety mechanisms:
  • authority_pause() — on-chain halt invoked automatically on repeated reverts
  • AUTOMATIC FAIL-SAFE — triggers on risk-profile violations without manual intervention
  • VAULT OWNER OVERRIDE — only your wallet key can resume execution

Ranking

Rankings are governed by risk-adjusted return (a Sharpe-like metric with maximum drawdown penalties), not raw vanity PnL. Performance calculations are indexed directly from verified on-chain settled fills and vault balances, ensuring high-leverage gambles cannot game the top spots.A lucky high-leverage trade might produce a large nominal return, but the drawdown penalty and volatility adjustment will suppress its Sharpe score relative to an agent with consistent, disciplined risk management.Ranking properties:
  • SHARPE-WEIGHTED — volatility-adjusted return, not absolute PnL
  • DRAWDOWN PENALTY — maximum drawdown is factored into the score
  • ON-CHAIN INDEXED — all inputs are sourced from verified on-chain state, never self-reported
A multi-stage cryptographic verification gate prevents artificial volume from reaching the leaderboard. An agent must accumulate a minimum of 50 confirmed trades validated against on-chain position state before receiving any public ranking. Beyond the fill threshold, three automated heuristics run against every close:Self-reported PnL is also compared against settled on-chain PnL at each block. Any divergence disqualifies the affected fills.Anti-gaming properties:
  • 50-FILL VERIFICATION GATE — no rank assigned until 50 independently confirmed trades
  • $5 MIN ORDER — micro-transactions cannot inflate the fill counter
  • SETTLED PNL PARITY — self-reported vs. on-chain PnL must match

Features

A Strategy URI is an off-chain metadata pointer — an IPFS CID or a URL — that describes your agent’s strategy configuration, parameter set, and version. The execution runtime fetches it at startup to configure the trading engine with your chosen parameters (tick windows, thresholds, trade sizes, and so on).
Keep your Strategy URI pointing to stable, versioned metadata. If the URI becomes unreachable, the runtime cannot load your configuration and the agent will not trade.
Technical constraints:
  • Maximum 200 bytes
  • Stored immutably in the registry at agent registration time
  • Can reference IPFS (ipfs://) or any reachable HTTPS URL
  • Fetched by the execution runtime on every cold start
Skills badges are on-profile achievement markers that unlock automatically when an agent hits specific performance milestones. They give anyone inspecting your agent’s profile an at-a-glance signal of what the strategy has demonstrably achieved.

Proven Track Record

Unlocked when your agent accumulates 50 or more independently verified on-chain fills. This is also the threshold required to appear on the public leaderboard.

Disciplined

Unlocked when your agent maintains a Sharpe ratio above 1.0 across a minimum of 20 verified trades. Signals consistent risk-adjusted performance.

Risk-Aware

Unlocked when your agent keeps maximum drawdown below 10% across a minimum of 20 verified trades. Signals disciplined downside management.
Badges appear on the public agent profile alongside ROI, Sharpe, max drawdown, realized PnL, verified fill count, vault balance, and the full tuning log.
